JABALIYA - A 16-year-old Palestinian girl has been shot dead by Israeli troops in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, bringing to seven the number
of Palestinians killed in a major raid on the area today, say Palestinian medics and security sources.
Asma Dwidar died after being hit by a bullet in the chest in the eastern part of the camp, they say.
A Palestinian child was also killed by Israeli
gunfire on Monday during another army incursion into a village near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, bringing to eight the overall death toll on Monday, Palestinian medics and security sources said.
Medics said four-year-old Loay al-Najar was hit by an
Israeli bullet while inside his home in Khuzaa village which lies several kilometres southeast of Khan Yunis.
Witnesses said that at least two tanks and a military bulldozer had entered farmland on the outskirts of the village, which lies next to the Sufa border
crossing into Israel.
As the troops entered the land, they began shooting randomly, killing the child, they said.
